The Data Location Tab

The Data Location (DL) tab defines the data sources from which Sapphire can collector data.  The Data Location name is just a handle or alias - it is the properties of the Data Location that tell the Sapphire Collector how to connect to the actual Data Source.

Data Locations typically must be OPC Servers - both OPC Classic and OPC UA DA OPC Servers are supported.  In addition, Sapphire can also historize data from a set of Specialist Data Locations.

Click on the buttons or tabs in the image shown below to find out how manage Data Locations.

Note:  The 'Rate' may fluctuate depending on the number of items being read at any point in time (since a Data Location can be used in any number of SDPs and thus can be scanned at various comb points).  This may also cause fluctuations in the Scan Time depending on the number of items being scanned in any one sample.

Tip:  To profile the load that a Sapphire Collector is placing on any given Data Location trend the appropriate DL based Performance items (see section Specialist Data Locations).
