This section of the User Preferences Plot tab is used to set the required default behaviour for the plot Scales.
Control: |
Default: |
Purpose: |
Enable Auto Rounding |
Disabled |
When checked, the Min and Max axis scales for all pens will be rounded.
Note: Existing pens, and pens defined in Plot files will not inherit this setting. It only applies to new Pens. |
Round Intermediate Y-axis Labels |
Disabled |
Set the option if you wish all the Y-axis labels to be rounded, and not just the Min and Max scales. This will ensure that all of the intermediates scales are set to 'nice' numbers.
Note: Use of this setting can bias the scale range, as the range may be need to be offset in order to produce 'nice' intermediate values. |
7 |
The maximum number of Y-axis Scale lines to display on a plot. The count includes both the X-Axis and the top scale marker. This setting allows the user to define a multiple that will provide suitable intermediate scale labels.
Tip: The number of Scale lines can be overridden on a per plot basis. See the Plot Properties Preferences tab for more information. Note: Should the plot size reduce to the point that the chosen setting no longer fits, the number of Scale lines will be automatically reduced (hence the fact it's a maximum). |
