Within each SDR the user can create any number of Sapphire Data Partitions (SDPs). An SDP can be considered as a circular buffer that defines the items that the user wishes to trend along with their values at given points in time.
When creating an SDP, the user must specify the following attributes:
Attributes: |
Description: |
Frequency |
The frequency at which data is to be collected. |
Tolerance |
The period within which data must be successfully read. If this period is exceeded then the data is marked as having been missed. |
Items |
The maximum number of items that the SDP should be sized to hold. |
Duration |
The minimum period of time for which the data should be retained. |
Tip: By adjusting the attributes for each SDP it is possible to ascertain the disk space that would be required for new configurations. Ensure not to apply any changes when using the SDP dialog in this mode!
Note: SDPs are dynamic and their attributes can be adjusted without incurring loss of data.
