Installation:
Creation and deletion of instances of the stOPCServer.
Definition of the required Windows Services without having to use the Microsoft Service Control Manager.
Definition of the appropriate DCOM Security without having to use the DCOM Config interface.
Configuration:
Specification of the Sapphire Collector that will act as the Data Source for each stOPCServer.
Options to Enable/Disable the DA and HDA interfaces on a per instance basis.
Specification of the DCOM security model to employ for each user allowed to access the stOPCServer.
Options to specify the number of worker threads to use (to increase bandwidth by establishing multiple connections to the source Sapphire Collector.
Options to specify a maximum request size to reduce the impact of large messages by breaking them into smaller sections.
Control:
Options to Start, Stop or Pause each stOPCServer.
Statistics indicating the no of connect clients, the total no of Items read etc.
Version details relating to the 'source' Sapphire Collector.
Fully configurable auditing and logging.
Cross Domain Access
Since the stOPCServer uses TCP/IP to connect to the Sapphire Collector, it is not prone to DCOM security limitations when connecting between domains. This means that the stOPCServer can be located in a different domain to the Sapphire Collector providing cross domain access.
