Server |
The name of the Data Source - typically this is the OPCServer's DCOM PROGID. |
Local Registration |
Checked if client side DCOM registration has been performed for the Data Source on the Sapphire Collector's node.
Note: For locally registered Data Sources the Node and Class ID fields will be disabled since this information is located in the registry where it is looked up via the Server name (i.e. the PROGID). |
Node |
The node that the Data Source resides upon. |
Class ID |
The DCOM Class ID for the Data Source. |
Use the Sapphire Collector service account |
Select this option if the Collector should use the security credential of the account used to run the Collector service when connecting to the OPC Server. |
This account |
Select this option to specify the account and password that the Collector should use for security credentials when connecting to the OPC Server.
Tip: The use of these fields allows the Collector to connect to OPC Servers in remote domains without the need for a trust to be in place. This feature is known as 'OPC Cloaking'. Note: For this to work the account and password specific must be valid within the domain where the OPC Server resides. |
