Headline features in V5-1 include the New Plot Wizard, the addition of Plot Browse History, New User Preferences for Always Synchronizing Plots, Live Updates for Pen Pointers, displaying the plot Compression Ratio on plot titles ... and much more!
Headline features in V5-1:
The New Plot Wizard is equally useful for experienced users as it remembers the settings last used, thereby speeding up the
process of creating multiple plots from a single data source.
Click to see the New Plot Wizard Tutorial.
Note: The feature is analogous to the History feature supported by web browsers that allows users to return to previously viewed web pages.
Click to see the Plot Browse History Tutorial.
This provides a useful indication of both the granularity of the data being displayed and also how far 'zoomed in' or 'out' the trend is.
A Compression Ratio of less than 1:1 (i.e. 1:6) means that the data will be need to be 'spread out' to fill the display. Conversely ratios greater than 1:1 (i.e. 24:1) indicate that there are more data points than can be displayed, so Compression will be in effect.
Click to see the Compression Ratio Tutorial.
This allows the user to view longer periods whilst still being able to view the most recent data.
The feature is similar in concept to the Preview Pane, but does not require space to be given up in the main plot area.
